Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Publishing Assistant to join our team. As the right-hand collaborator to our founder, you will play a crucial role in bringing creative ideas to life and ensuring the smooth development and promotion of our titles.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the development of children's books from concept to publication, including coordinating with illustrators, ghostwriters, and other freelancers;
  • Maintaining project timelines and ensuring deadlines are met;
  • Providing feedback on drafts and organizing book-related files and documentation;
  • SUPPORTING promotional efforts, including basic advertising, content preparation for listings, and outreach;
  • Helping strategize and execute marketing campaigns across online platforms;
  • Researching best practices for self-publishing platforms and assisting in formatting and preparing manuscripts for publication;
  • Tracking royalties, sales, and promotional results as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 1 year experience in publishing, editorial support, or project coordination in a creative field (children's publishing is a plus);
  • Strong organizational and communication skills;
  • Experience collaborating with creatives such as illustrators and writers;
  • A self-starter with a proactive and problem-solving mindset;
  • Comfortable working independently in a startup environment;
  • Familiarity with children's book content and trends is a plus.
