Job Overview
Our client is seeking a Financial Operations Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for maintaining financial operations and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of accounting.
The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable, with a strong background in financial management and control. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth financial operations and maintain high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:
- Vendor Setup & Compliance: Set up new vendors; collect W-9 forms; reconcile vendor statements; protect confidential information.
- Invoice Processing: Review invoices; perform 3-way matching; ensure proper GL coding; enter invoices; resolve discrepancies; apply credits.
- Payments & Scheduling: Maintain payment schedule; track and manage billings and payments for accuracy and timeliness.
- Communication & Support: Collaborate with internal teams; note: direct vendor communication handled by Finance Manager.
- Accounts Receivable:
- Payment Application & Deductions: Apply payments to invoices; verify deductions and credits; retrieve remittance advice.
- Reconciliation & Record-Keeping: Regular AR reconciliations; maintain AR records; resolve discrepancies; reconcile online sales and bank deposits.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Review AR aging; monitor unapplied payments; prepare customer statements as needed.
