Manual QA Tester Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Tester to join our team. As a key member of the quality assurance team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality digital experiences by testing web applications.

Your primary goal will be to identify and report defects in our software products, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to clarify feature requirements and raise concerns.

In this role, you will also be responsible for maintaining lightweight, up-to-date documentation on test coverage, scenarios, and known issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Test Planning and Execution: Develop and execute structured functional and exploratory tests across new and existing features. Perform thorough regression testing prior to releases to ensure stability.
  2. Bug Reporting and Tracking: Accurately reproduce, log, and track bugs using issue tracking systems. Write clear and detailed bug reports, including reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and relevant screenshots or logs.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Work cross-functionally with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to clarify feature requirements and raise concerns. Participate in QA reviews and daily stand-ups to share progress and blockers.
  4. Documentation and Process Improvement: Maintain lightweight, up-to-date documentation on test coverage, scenarios, and known issues. Flag gaps in coverage and work with the team to address them. Track and document regressions, retests, and fixes in an organised manner.
