Revenue Cycle Specialist Position

This is a revenue cycle management specialist position in the dental industry.

Responsibilities include credentialing, billing and accounts receivable processing. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of dental billing systems and insurance processes.

Requirements include minimum 2 years of experience in dental billing and revenue cycle management, proficiency with dental billing software and coding, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Credentialing Responsibilities:
    • Complete and process provider applications.
    • Maintain accuracy and completeness of provider data in the database.
    • Communicate effectively with the team throughout the credentialing process.
    • Proactively follow up on application statuses and missing information.
  • Billing and AR Responsibilities:
    • Review all aspects of the revenue cycle process including insurance verification, claims submission, payment posting, and AR follow-up.
    • Utilize practice management software to enter data, prepare reports, and ensure accuracy.
    • Investigate and resolve denied, delayed, or underpaid claims.
    • Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
    • Analyze claim denials and communicate root causes to the team.
    • Research and gather missing information needed for claim processing.
    • Collaborate with dental providers and staff to gather necessary documentation.
    • Handle appeals for denied claims with proper documentation.
    • Track claim progress and provide proactive updates to the team.
    • Maintain detailed records of all follow-up activities and claim outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in dental billing and revenue cycle management.
  • Proficiency with dental billing software and coding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods.
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours/week.
  • May be in a studio environment which can be noisy/distracting.
  • Requires clear communication with others to exchange information.
  • May involve repetitive motions (wrists, hands, fingers).
