Job Summary

This is a remote position that requires deep understanding of site reliability engineering principles, including service level indicators, service level objectives, error budgets, and toil reduction.

Main Responsibilities
  • SRE Adoption and Culture Change: Proven experience driving SRE adoption and culture change across teams and applications. This includes creating and implementing strategies to increase awareness and adoption of SRE practices among engineers.
  • Incident Management: Strong knowledge of incident management, on-call practices, and blameless postmortems. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and implementing effective incident response processes and communicating with stakeholders during incidents.
  • Cloud Services: 5+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including infrastructure as code, containerization, and serverless computing. Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native applications is also required.
  • Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code: Solid expertise with Kubernetes, including scaling, workload optimization, network policies, service mesh, and troubleshooting. Additionally, hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is necessary.
  • Reliability & Observability: Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, and tracing, proven ability to design and implement alerting strategies aligned with SLOs/SLIs, and hands-on experience optimizing application performance, resiliency, and cost efficiency in cloud-native environments.
  • Automation & Tooling: Proficiency in at least one modern programming language for automation, reliability tooling, and operational improvements, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release engineering best practices, and expertise in automating reliability tasks, reducing toil, and scaling best practices across multiple applications.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication: Ability to evangelize SRE best practices, influence engineering/product teams in adopting them, experience mentoring engineers, establishing communities of practice around reliability, strong stakeholder management skills to balance product delivery goals with reliability requirements, and excellent communication skills.
