Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled Microbiologist to join our Microbiology team at Bureau Veritas S.A. The successful candidate will have experience in preparing culture media, participating in quality programs, and maintaining accurate records of data related to performed tests and test results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare culture media and reagents used in analysis.
  • Participate in quality programs such as proficiency, inter-, intra-lab testing, blind and parallel testing.
  • Retain accurate records of data related to performed tests and test results.
  • Comply with established quality management system and government regulations.
  • Follow established quality assurance and quality control programs.
  • Submit job order reports in a timely manner.

Additional Duties:
  • Perform purity checking of reference cultures and environmental monitoring of microbiology rooms.
  • Perform culture transfers, preservation, and maintenance of seed lot system for reference cultures.
  • Check and oversee cleaning done by laboratory aides.
  • Perform growth promotion testing of culture medium.
  • File documents related to procured reference cultures.
  • Monitor and update inventory of reference stock cultures.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Technical Section Head or General Manager.

Authorization:
  • Handle operation of all equipment in the microbiology section.
  • Use labware for sample batching, encoding, and authorization of test results.
  • Use FLEX for encoding of purchases and PO requests.
  • Have authority to perform specific tests.
  • Act as deputy for reporting, reviewing, and authorizing microbiological test results.
  • Oversee operations of the microbiology laboratory in absence of Technical Section Head.
