Instructional Content Specialist

This key role is responsible for developing engaging and effective learning activities and compelling course content in collaboration with subject matter experts.

Supporting Learning Service Delivery within a Regional Learning Delivery hub or centre, you will contribute to the Global Learning Service Delivery Strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply best practices in learning technologies and instructional design principles
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify required learning outcomes and target learner populations
  • Identify the most suitable delivery mechanisms (e-learning, virtual classroom, face-to-face etc.)
  • Establish instructional goals and create content that aligns with them
  • Visualize instructional graphics, user interfaces, and finished products for e-learning
  • Design exercises, activities etc. to enhance the learning process and learner experience
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.)
  • Devise modes of assessment (tests or quizzes) to measure the effectiveness of the course and attainment of knowledge and specified learner outcomes
  • Identify poor quality and/or outdated learning content and recommend improvements or replacements
  • Maintain project documentation, version control, and course folders
Qualifications:
  • In-depth understanding of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills
  • Working knowledge of multiple web design technologies and multimedia formats
  • Visual design skills (e.g. Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts
  • BA or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology, or similar relevant field
  • Certification in Instructional Design (preferred)
