Lead Game Designer Job Description

This role involves spearheading the creation of engaging game experiences that meet the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with a team of designers to develop innovative levels, pitch ideas for new content, and review levels to ensure they align with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide constructive feedback to level design teams to help them achieve their goals and implement best designs.
  • Pitch engaging concepts to users in existing projects, collaborating with designers to create new content across various projects.
  • Review and revise levels with level design teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Tune levels based on analytics to optimize user experience.
  • Collaborate with level designers to build levels for multiple games and game modes.
  • Design obstacles and game features with designers to create challenging experiences.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • At least 1+ year of experience as a level designer or similar role on casual, puzzle, or F2P games with a shipped game under your belt.
  • Experience with Unity 3D is essential.
  • Proficiency in developing games across all platforms, including mobile, console, and PC.
  • Deep understanding of F2P/casual level design principles.
  • Detailed-oriented, organized, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Experience as a level designer on puzzle games.
  • Strong desire to learn and improve.
