Senior Primary Design Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Primary Design Engineer to lead the delivery of high-quality projects and drive technical development within our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with extensive knowledge of applicable standards and industry best practices. They will be responsible for defining project scopes, managing design stakeholders, and leading technical delivery teams.

This role requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in close collaboration with colleagues across service lines. The successful candidate will also possess strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering exceptional client experience and identifying business development opportunities.

In addition to their technical expertise, the Senior Primary Design Engineer will be expected to supervise, support, and train less experienced members of the team. Formal mentoring of young professionals is also an essential aspect of this role.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Define project scopes and manage design stakeholders to achieve best-for-project outcomes
  • Lead technical delivery teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget
  • Manage client interactions and ensure project technical and commercial outcomes meet client expectations
  • Develop and submit proposals for routine projects, and communicate project progress to clients
  • Supervise, support, and train less experienced team members, including formal mentoring of young professionals
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • At least 8 years relevant work experience, with Australian project experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable standards and industry best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of delivering exceptional client experience
  • Relevant on-site credentials and sound knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, ETAP etc.
