Key Role of a Workday Solutions Expert

The Functional Architect plays a vital role in providing strategic leadership for end-to-end Workday solutions. This senior expert partners with pursuit teams to offer expert guidance, contributing to RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and overall solution strategy.

As a trusted advisor during the sales phase and functional lead during deployment, this individual ensures proposed Workday solutions are scalable, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with client goals.

In the implementation phase, the Functional Architect leads the functional workstreams, delivering robust and future-ready solutions in collaboration with Engagement Managers, project teams, and senior client stakeholders.

Broad Workday product knowledge, deep implementation expertise, and experience with other ERP systems across various industries are critical to success in this role.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with pursuit and sales teams to provide expert solution guidance and support proposal creation.
  • Develop and own effort / budgetary estimations aligning to customer requirements.
  • Support and guide the transition from sales to delivery, ensuring continuity of design intent and solution integrity.
  • Provide quality assurance oversight and thought leadership on in-flight implementations.
  • Cross-functionally collaborate with teams to ensure cohesive and aligned solution delivery.
  • Lead the end-to-end functional solution design across the full project lifecycle.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • At least 5 years of actual implementation experience required.
  • Strong Workday implementation experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in diverse, fast-paced environments and effectively collaborate across teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage executive staff and sponsors.
