Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Front-end Developer to join our team on a remote, full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to leverage their expertise in WordPress, Shopify, and React-based builds to deliver high-quality front-end development solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop custom WordPress themes using ACF and modular CSS/JS, ensuring clean code and best practices.
  • Build custom Shopify themes and extend functionality as required, maintaining a high level of quality and reliability.
  • Deliver React-based front-end builds, including Gatsby for static and hybrid websites, with a focus on performance and user experience.
  • Translate designs and requirements into maintainable, performant code, adhering to accessibility, responsive behavior, and SEO best practices.
  • Apply advanced site optimisation techniques, including Core Web Vitals, caching, lazy loading, and image optimisation.
  • Work collaboratively with the team, ensuring dependable and proactive collaboration.
  • Ensure timely delivery of work and meet project deadlines, maintaining a high level of professionalism and commitment.
Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS (Flexbox, Grid), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Strong ability to hand-code solutions rather than rely heavily on plugins.
  • Advanced experience with custom WordPress theme development and Shopify builds.
  • Solid experience with React, including building projects in Gatsby or similar.
  • Deep understanding of ACF and WordPress customisation best practices.
  • Proficient with CSS pre-processors like SCSS and building maintainable design systems.
  • Experience with JavaScript tooling (Webpack, Vite, Babel, npm/yarn).
  • Familiarity with Git workflows in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in integrating APIs and handling asynchronous data.
  • Skilled in optimising websites for speed, accessibility, and SEO.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting server-related issues (LAMP/LEMP environments, hosting setups).
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
