Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Support Coordinator to join our team, specializing in family medicine and internal medicine support.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients over the phone, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and maintaining accurate patient records within Athena EHR.

In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring patients receive timely, efficient, and compassionate support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greeting callers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Scheduling primary care appointments, including annual exams and chronic care follow-ups
  • Verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility
  • Maintaining and updating patient records accurately in Athena EHR
  • Collaborating with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine or internal medicine
  • Proficiency in Athena EHR, including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication features
  • Strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
About This Opportunity:

This is a remote opportunity with a standard schedule from Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm EST.
