Overview

Key responsibilities for this Financial Manager role include leading the month-end close process, managing and mentoring a finance team of approximately 7 staff members, ensuring financial reporting and accounting practices comply with GAAP and DCAA standards, and collaborating with project managers and accountants on project status reviews and billing support.

Additional key responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance of the Deltek VantagePoint system, reviewing bi-weekly payroll for accuracy, approving monthly payroll reconciliation and journals, providing timely and accurate 401(k) contributions, preparing financial reports for bank loan covenant purposes, assisting with complex proposals, and supervising the preparation of annual indirect cost calculations.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a controller in a professional services firm
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and project accounting, with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • A background in auditing and reconciliations is essential
  • Strong knowledge of Deltek VantagePoint is preferred, with excellent Excel skills
  • Proven leadership in managing and mentoring an accounting team of all experience levels
