Accounting Specialist - Construction

This role involves managing day-to-day financial operations, job costing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll. A solid understanding of construction budgeting and cost control is required to support project teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Perform job costing and track expenses by project
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and vendor payments
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements
  • Prepare financial reports, including P&L, cash flow, and balance sheets
  • Assist with estimating by reviewing plans and material take-offs
  • Support project managers with budget tracking and cost analysis
  • Manage payroll and ensure compliance with labor laws
Requirements:
  • Bookkeeping experience, preferably in construction
  • Knowledge of construction accounting and job costing is essential
  • Experience with estimating processes or bids is a plus
  • Proficient in accounting software and Excel
  • Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
