Electrical Engineer Role

This is a challenging position that involves reviewing electrical plans and specifications to understand project scope. Excellent blueprint reading skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in takeoff and estimating software are required for success.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Review electrical plans to comprehend project requirements and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Perform detailed electrical quantity takeoffs for devices, wiring, conduits, panels, switchgear, lighting, and other systems.
  • Utilize digital tools to accurately measure and quantify materials, ensuring data accuracy and precision.
  • Prepare organized takeoff sheets and data for the estimating team, facilitating seamless collaboration and efficient decision-making.
  • Coordinate closely with senior estimators to clarify scope and resolve drawing discrepancies, promoting effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate project takeoff files, ensuring timely updates and access to critical information.
  • Update estimating workbooks with vendor quotes and revised quantities, enabling informed business decisions.
Key Requirements:
  • Licensed Electrical Engineer with expertise in electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical estimating, takeoffs, or drafting, with a strong foundation in relevant skills and knowledge.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with digital takeoff software preferred, with ability to quickly adapt to new tools and technologies.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal), with ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently, with strong organizational and time management skills.

This is a full-time remote position that requires exceptional time management skills and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, meet deadlines, and contribute to the growth and success of the company.
