Job Title

We seek a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Tax Accountant with expertise in tax preparation, collaboration, and staff supervision. This position involves preparing tax returns, supporting accounting functions, and acting as a liaison between teams.

About the Job

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicative, and experienced in corporate tax work. They will be responsible for preparing and filing accurate federal, state, and local tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 990.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file accurate tax returns.
  • Collaborate closely with internal accounting staff.
  • Review trial balances, fixed asset schedules, and reports for compliance and completeness.
  • Communicate directly with clients via clear, professional correspondence.
  • Supervise outsourced staff, assigning tasks and reviewing deliverables.
  • Conduct ongoing tax research to stay current with regulations.
  • Assist with quarterly estimated tax calculations and annual tax planning.
  • Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 3–4 years of bookkeeping experience with strong general ledger knowledge.
  • 2–4 years of tax return preparation experience (Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, 990).
  • Proficiency in UltraTax and Fixed Assets CS.
  • Experience using Soroban or Stanford Tax platforms.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to draft clear client correspondence.
  • Strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
  • Able to manage and delegate tasks to outsourced team members.
  • High attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
