Linux Kernel Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Kernel Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our kernel organization, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of our Ubuntu Linux kernels.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test kernel components
  • Work closely with silicon and cloud partners to ensure seamless integration of their hardware and software components with our kernels
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues reported by customers and the community
  • Develop and maintain high-quality kernel code, following industry best practices
  • Participate in upstream kernel communities and contribute to open-source projects

Requirements:

  • Strong programming skills in C, with experience working on Linux kernel internals
  • Excellent understanding of operating system concepts and principles
  • Proficiency in git and version control systems
  • Experience working with Linux distributions, preferably Ubuntu or Debian
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in a distributed team
