Job Description

We are seeking an experienced accountant to join our team. This role will report to our Accounting Manager and work closely with our accounting and finance organization. The ideal candidate will be excited to join a climate tech company and navigate a growth-oriented environment.

The successful candidate will take ownership of their work, seek opportunities to learn and improve, and effectively communicate with all levels of management. They will also be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the month-end close by preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules on a timely basis.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with consolidations, including reviewing domestic and foreign subsidiary financials, eliminations, and financial statement reports for external reporting compliance.
  • Manage business travel and expense transactions by ensuring policy compliance and accurate coding.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and propose additions and disposals.
  • Analyze monthly Balance Sheet and P&L account balances and provide commentary.
  • Support billing and payment processing during month-end close.
  • Interact with department managers to support accounting goals.
  • Contribute to critical accounting policies and annual financial statement audit processes.
  • Participate in system implementations, technical analysis, and projects as needed.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Proficient understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting principles.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of General Ledger accounting experience, including account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Experience in month-end processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to assist with various tasks.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Excel and Word.

Preferred Skills

  • CPA certification.
  • Public accounting experience with a global firm.
  • Experience working with external audit firms.
  • International accounting experience, including consolidations and foreign currency transactions.
  • Experience with systems like NetSuite and Coupa.
  • Experience in the mining industry.
