Job Description

The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for managing the hotel's recreational facilities and activities, including the gym, pool, and spa. They ensure that all programs are safe, well-organized, and engaging, and that staff are supervised and schedules are coordinated.

Responsibilities

Guest Relations & First Impressions:

  • Welcome guests according to company standards and ensure a positive experience from the start.
  • Promote and upsell Newport Mansion rooms and other NWR products and services to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue.
  • Resolve guest complaints with professionalism and confidence, coordinating with the Guest Service Assistant Manager on issues and resolutions.

Facility Cleanliness & Maintenance:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of all guest areas, including the gym, changing areas, pool shower areas, and lockers, maintaining high standards of hygiene.
  • Regularly inspect gym equipment, ensuring that all items are clean, well-maintained, and functioning properly.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments for each area to ensure safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Other Tasks:

  • Uphold the company's code of conduct and model the resort's mission, vision, and core values in daily operations.
  • Maintain a high standard of appearance and hygiene at all times in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Attend meetings, training activities, and courses to stay updated on industry best practices and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the Housekeeping department and the delivery of exceptional service.

Qualifications

  • College graduate of any four-year degree.
  • A minimum of two to three years of relevant work experience.
  • Customer Service: Proficient in applying customer service skills to interact with guests and co-workers, upholding company policies and maintaining a positive environment.
  • Teamwork & Relationship Building: Works effectively within a team, fostering harmonious working relationships with peers and superiors.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized and focused, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership: Possesses strong leadership qualities to delegate tasks, motivate, influence, and develop team members effectively.
