Financial Controller for Cannabis Enterprise

We are seeking an experienced professional to manage our financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and have a keen eye for detail.

  • Maintaining accurate and organized financial records is crucial for the success of any business.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for posting daily transactions in QuickBooks Online, processing invoices, receipts, purchase orders, accounts payable/receivable, and supplier/vendor payments.
  • Reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger monthly, as well as company credit card statements monthly, will also be part of their duties.
  • Additionally, they will need to prepare financial data and reports using Excel and Fathom, extract and compile expense submissions via Dext, and support payroll activities.
Key Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience is required.
  • A post-secondary education in accounting or finance is essential.
  • The ideal candidate must be proficient in QuickBooks Online and possess strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Experience with Fathom (or comparable financial reporting platforms) and comfort using Dext or similar receipt-processing tools are necessary.
  • A solid understanding of AP, AR, reconciliation, general ledger, and financial compliance is also required.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills are vital for this role.
