Global Development Reporter Opportunity

This role offers a unique chance to cover the inside story of the global development industry, from big new projects and initiatives to leadership transitions, layoffs, mergers, and fundraising innovations.

You'll be responsible for writing exclusive stories, quick-hit news pieces, long-form features, and newsletters that are part of our email products. You'll present ideas at weekly editorial meetings, brief other Devex reporters on key issues when needed, and contribute to panels and webinars.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Covering the global development beat, including researching and writing articles, conducting interviews, and gathering information.
  • Developing an in-depth understanding of the development sector, its players, and the issues affecting it.
  • Collaborating with other reporters, the production and multimedia team, and the social media engagement team to achieve common goals.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of breaking stories and delivering original reporting.
  • Strong passion for global development, with the curiosity to dig into how the industry works.
  • A network of contacts or the drive to build one quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage directly with readers.
  • Native level of English with excellent written English.
  • Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with business and finance reporting.
  • Experience working at a well-respected media organization.
  • Comfortable moderating panels and webinars.
