Job Summary

The Healthcare Data Specialist will be responsible for reviewing medical records to identify procedures and diagnoses. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate coding based on current guidelines and communicate effectively with the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform ongoing analysis of medical record documentation and assign accurate codes per CMS, CPT, and Ventra Health guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the coding management team to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist with client/provider audits and provide feedback on coding discrepancies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:

  • College Graduate (Bachelor's degree holder)
  • RHIT and/or CPC certification required.
  • At least one (1) year of medical billing experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding system.
  • Ability to read and interpret documentation and assign accurate codes.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Become proficient in the use of billing software within 4 weeks.
