Position Summary

As a key member of our development team, you will report directly to the Development Team Leader and collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality systems.

This position is responsible for maintaining and expanding existing systems while also developing new solutions to meet business needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the development team and stakeholders to design and implement robust and secure database applications.
  • Optimizing SQL queries for performance and scalability.
  • Developing test cases and testing code developed by yourself and others.
  • Providing technical support to the wider development team.
  • Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders to accurately scope and design system requirements.
  • Maintaining documentation for internal systems, APIs, and databases.

Experience & Technical Skills

The ideal candidate will have experience with the following tools (or similar) and be able to demonstrate a strong ability to learn new technologies quickly:

  • Laravel
  • Database design, implementation, and management experience
  • PHP
  • MySQL
  • GitHub
  • APIs (Soap, restful, oauth, swagger)

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work in Melbourne hours to align with company head office.
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role, ideally within telecommunications.
  • Experience working in remote-based teams.
  • Extensive experience on database design, implementation, and management (within service-based systems).
  • Strong understanding of SQL queries.
  • Strong understanding of PHP and GitHub.
  • Strong understanding of Laravel framework.
