Job Description

The primary goal of this position is to ensure the security and integrity of organizational assets by providing a swift and effective response to cybersecurity incidents. This involves investigating diverse alerts, supporting incident management processes, and adapting to changes in security operations to meet business requirements.

The Security Incident Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, classify, analyze, and remediate security alerts, escalating incidents as necessary to ensure the security of assets and services.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of security operations best practices and support continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and third parties to identify and resolve problems and manage expectations.
  • Execute threat-hunting activities using proprietary and open-source tools to identify current and emerging threats that pose a risk to assets.
  • Implement security initiatives to improve infrastructure.
  • Analyze and investigate security-related logs against short and medium-term threats and Indicators of Compromise (IOCs).
  • Provide recommendations for updates to IR handling processes and procedures.
  • Manage business continuity plan and information backup procedures to minimize disruption in the event of a Cyber Attack.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance knowledge sharing and QBE security.
Requirements
  • Relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in a Security Operation Centre, Cybersecurity, and IT-related fields.
  • Knowledge of security solutions and technologies including Windows, Linux, IPS/IDS, Firewalls, Email gateways, proxy technologies, cloud solutions, endpoints, and mobile devices.
