Job Overview

The position of Senior Tax Accountant involves reviewing financial data, ensuring accuracy in coding, and preparing annual financial statements for various entity structures. As a key team member, you will assist with the completion of bookkeeping duties and BAS lodgment where required.

  • Reviewing financial data to guarantee accurate coding.
  • Preparing annual financial statements for different entity types.
  • Completing annual tax returns within business timeframes.
  • Assisting with the completion of bookkeeping tasks and BAS submission (where necessary).

Key Requirements:

  • Australian taxation and accounting experience is mandatory.
  • 6 years' experience working with a public practice/accounting firm offering Australian taxation services is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in accounting for companies, partnerships, and trusts, including financial statement preparation and annual tax returns.
  • Strong working experience with Xero, XPM, and other various accounting systems.
  • Xero Certified is required.
  • Sound understanding of the Australian GST system, including BAS and IAS.
  • Preference given to candidates with Office 365, Karbon, and SuperMate experience.
  • Qualified Accountant/CPA highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have great attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to follow process/system.
  • Must be proactive, highly organized, and self-motivated.
  • Motivated to continue learning and progressing in their career.
