In this role, your responsibilities will include working with the product management team to understand and develop firmware requirements, designing modular firmware for our products/systems, providing technical direction to other team members, and analyzing, designing, and implementing solutions to meet product needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product management to understand and develop firmware requirements
  • Design modular firmware for our products/systems using best design practices
  • Provide technical direction to junior team members in design and implementation
  • Analyze, design, and implement solutions to meet product needs
  • Identify software inefficiencies and propose improvements
  • Plan and architect testing environments using existing tool chains
  • Participate in sprint planning sessions and identify test cases necessary for verifying firmware requirements
  • Implement or lead the implementation of test cases, handle code changes, and participate in code reviews
  • Log defects in project-defined defect tracking tools and read relevant project engineering practice documents

Your Background

">

To succeed in this role, you will need 8-10 years of experience in embedded firmware development for embedded products, knowledge of microcontrollers, agile development methodologies, and distributed version control systems such as Git or Mercurial. You should also have expertise in C/C++ compilers and linkers, standalone and RTOS-based firmware development experience, and strong analytical and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Embedded development experience with hardware interface understanding and ability to work with hardware engineering teams
  • Ability to work in a global engineering environment and familiarity with requirements management database tools like Jama
  • Experience with Bluetooth communication is an added advantage
