What's the scoop?

As an Embedded Engineer, you will be responsible for programming embedded microcontrollers like STMicro, Kinetis, and Microchip, with a focus on industries such as automotive, commercial appliances, and aviation. You will design and implement control systems, develop low-level drivers, and write embedded C/C++ code for microcontroller applications, including testing, debugging, and prototyping. Your role will also involve performing software/firmware verification, writing documentation, and managing system ports to new versions of FreeRTOS.

What you'll do

  • Write and maintain embedded C/C++ firmware for microcontroller-based systems.
  • Design and implement low-level drivers, bootloaders, and communication interfaces (e.g., SPI, CAN, UART).
  • Develop firmware for motor control applications (e.g., brushless DC motors, field-oriented control).
  • Create engineering and manufacturing test fixtures for automated testing of embedded systems.
  • Perform software/firmware verification, including writing test protocols and reports.
  • Port and update firmware to new platforms and RTOS versions (e.g., FreeRTOS).
  • Integrate data acquisition systems for real-time and statistical manufacturing feedback.
  • Document firmware requirements, architecture, and test plans.

What You Bring

  • Proficiency in embedded C/C++ development.
  • Experience with microcontrollers such as STMicro (STM32), NXP (Kinetis), Microchip, or Giga Device.
  • Familiarity with IDEs and toolchains like MCUXpresso.
  • Background in industries like automotive, aviation, commercial appliances, or industrial equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with motor control algorithms and topologies (e.g., trapezoidal, FOC).
  • Strong debugging, prototyping, and documentation skills.
  • Experience developing and testing firmware communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI).
  • Understanding of real-time operating systems (e.g., FreeRTOS).
  • C# experience for test applications is a plus.
