Manufacturing Engineering Role Overview

This is a highly skilled position in manufacturing engineering that focuses on die design, development, and processes to support new product development.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical advice to product design through stamping engineering evaluation; conducting evaluations for DFM.
  • They will work with process development engineers to complete new tooling conditioning and mass production.
  • Preparation of WI and PFMEA for new products; discussion with QE (Quality Engineers) and Production to finalize them.
  • Update WI and PFMEA according to customer audit requests, quality improvements, or EC.
  • Training operations staff on WI to standardize machine operation and processes.
  • Responsible for manufacturing process improvements, production efficiency, and quality enhancements.
  • Modification of tooling based on customer requests, quality improvements, EC, or efficiency needs.
  • Completion and publication of revised tooling drawings to meet EC and improvement requests.
  • Collaboration with QE and Production to revise related documents (WI & PFMEA) for customer audits.
  • Work with QE and Production to identify root causes and implement corrective actions for customer complaints.
  • Research or introduction of new technologies to improve yield and efficiency in processes.
  • Design, execution, and fabrication of single and progressive dies.
  • Handling repair and maintenance of dies.
  • Conduction of trial runs, adjustments, and evaluations of dies.
  • Operation of machining and press machines.
  • Participation in DFM, EC, and quality meetings with customers.
  • Design and fabrication of jigs.
  • Implementation of process improvements.
  • Checking of new part documentation.
  • Supervision of operators, designers, technicians, and engineers.
  • Use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks/Creo for design tasks.
  • Preparation and checking of die quotations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in engineering design-related roles.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Creo, AutoCAD, and experience with progressive dies.
  • Knowledge of quality tools like FMEA, SPC, and APQP.
