About the Job

The Private Advertiser is seeking an In House Counsel to join its team. As a key member of our legal team, you will be responsible for providing legal counsel and guidance on a wide range of matters, including contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and data privacy.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating risk, and collaborating with various departments to achieve business objectives. Main Responsibilities:

  • Legal Compliance:
    • Ensure the company complies with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Develop and maintain company policies and procedures that align with legal requirements.
    • Provide legal counsel and guidance on contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and data privacy.
    • Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes to assess their impact on the company's operations.
    • Coordinate internal compliance audits and reviews to assess adherence to regulations.
    • Develop strategies to address compliance gaps and mitigate associated risks.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential legal and compliance risks and develop proactive measures to address them.
    • Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to ensure the organization's preparedness for potential legal challenges.
  • Training and Education:
    • Design and deliver training programs to educate employees about legal and compliance matters.
    • Foster a culture of compliance by promoting awareness and understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Contract Management:
    • Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
    • Ensure contracts align with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Investigations and Dispute Resolution:
    • Lead or support investigations into alleged violations of policies, regulations, or laws.
    • Collaborate with relevant parties to resolve disputes and legal issues effectively.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to legal and compliance activities.
    • Generate periodic reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Law or related field; Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred.
    • Proven experience (4+ years) as a Legal Counsel or Compliance Officer in a corporate setting.
    • In-depth knowledge of legal and compliance regulations and best practices.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
    • Attention to detail and a high degree of integrity.
    • Proficiency in using legal research databases and software.
