Job Summary

As a Senior SQL Developer, you will play a key role in analyzing and developing SSIS projects, custom reports, and working closely with the team on any SQL issues.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing SSIS projects to handle ETL, transmission, encryption, and archiving of files received and generated
  • SQL Database Tuning and Performance
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining database tables, stored procedures, and supporting objects
  • Building and supporting operational reports for companies and clients
  • Working with data teams to provide operational support, resolve recurring problems
  • Documenting database topology, architecture, processes, and procedures
  • Developing SQL queries and supporting ad hoc requests for data
  • Assisting with capacity planning and resource expansion through data aggregation and analysis
  • Working with project managers to ensure that reports and metrics identify business needs and opportunities for process improvement
  • Identifying inefficiencies in the database platform and proposing solutions to management
  • Using problem-solving skills to assist in resolving business problems
  • Developing analytical skills to resolve technical problems. Identifying root causes for problems and proposing solutions to prevent recurring.

Requirements

To be successful as a Senior SQL Developer, you will need:

  • A four-year degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  • Minimum five years working as a Database engineer or a related role
  • Minimum three years' experience with SSIS
  • Minimum two years' experience with C# and/or VB.NET
  • A thorough understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
  • The ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code and design stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, and constraints
  • Extensive knowledge of MS SQL Server 2012 or later
  • Extensive knowledge with SSRS/SSIS/T-SQL
  • Experience with C# and/or VB.NET
  • Technical knowledge of MS SQL Server internals with an emphasis on query performance
  • Knowledge and know-how to troubleshoot potential issues; experience with best practices around database operations
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • The ability to multi-task with several complex and demanding projects
