About the Role

As a General Accounting Professional, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial reporting.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting and participating in Six Sigma/ESS initiatives
  • Recording at month end and preparing monthly schedules and reconciliation
  • Preparing JV matrix, compiling Journal Voucher, monthly schedules, and cut-off information
  • Printing and filing final General Ledger Reports and Performance reports
  • Providing statistical data for CAPEX, AR & Six Sigma purchase savings

In addition, you will:

  • Monitor the new CAPEX purchases and compare them with the approved Project Authorization Request (PAR)
  • Coordinate with the management team on capital expenditure planning and scheduling to update the Project Status Report (PSR)
  • Monitor PSR on a weekly basis to compare against the monthly capital expenditure forecast and updates for the actual expenditure at month end

You will also perform the following functions related to Fixed Assets:

  1. Maintain a detailed perpetual record of updated QAD Fixed Assets Module listing and keep all supporting documents for additions and disposals or retirement
  2. Ensure that all fixed asset tags for additions are attached to the asset

You will be responsible for the monthly reconciliation of QAD Fixed Assets Module records with the General Ledger balances.

To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and at least 1 to 2 years' experience in General Accounting. You will also require good leadership qualities and interpersonal skills.

In this role, you will act as a back-up to the direct supervisor in the month-end closing and support both internal and external audits to ensure internal control and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements are being met.
