Job Description

The project seeks a highly capable professional to provide geological analysis, mapping, and site-based geotechnical support for the Tamakoshi-V Hydroelectric Project (99.8 MW) in Dolakha District, Nepal.

Geological mapping of surface and subsurface features including tunnels, portal slopes, adits, roads, and bridges is a key responsibility. The role also involves classification of rock masses using Q-System, RMR, and GSI techniques.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Master's degree in Engineering Geology or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
  • Up to 1-2 years of relevant professional experience in geological/geotechnical roles.
  • Prior experience in hydropower projects, tunneling, underground excavation, or other large infrastructure works is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Geological mapping of surface and subsurface features.
  • Classification of rock masses using various techniques.
  • Preparation of as-built geological maps and tunnel profiles based on daily site mapping.
  • Analysis of geotechnical data for support design and reporting.
