Our organization is seeking a professional to undertake various accounting tasks. This role encompasses tax return preparation, bookkeeping, research, reconciliation, and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities
  • The ideal candidate will prepare tax returns for individuals and businesses using established templates and protocols.
  • They will contact clients to obtain required information or documents in a timely manner.
  • Conduct independent research on relevant laws prior to submitting returns.
  • Provide accurate and complete returns to reviewers.
  • Prepare tax projections and planning tasks for clients, determining tax liability, salary requirements, payroll liabilities, and estimated payments.
Tasks and Activities
  • Manage correspondence with IRS and state agencies, prepare payment plan paperwork, Powers of Attorney, S Elections, SS-4s, and State registrations.
  • Perform external bookkeeping, adjusting balance sheets, handling year-end adjustments, and providing QuickBooks support.
  • Review monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, updating lists to show timely completion, preparing W-2s, W-3s, 1099s, and 1096 at year-end.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or a finance-related field is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in tax and accounting software/tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, CCH Access/ProFX Tax, Intelliconnect Tax Research, Intelliforms, Tax Tools, CFS Payroll, Practice Management Time Entry, Accounting Research, PFX Tax Planning, Proseries Tax Planner, and CCH Engagement External Bookkeeper is essential.
  • Licensed as a certified public accountant is advantageous.
  • Excellent grasp of all Microsoft 365 applications is expected.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Aptitude in data management, analytics, and reporting preparation is desirable.
