Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Software Engineering Manager to lead our Sustaining Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a distributed team of engineers, providing guidance and feedback to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Hire, coach, mentor, and provide career development guidance to team members.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team success, as well as provide training and development opportunities.
  • Support timely delivery of bug fixes, patches, and technical solutions to address business needs in various technology fields.
  • Represent the company in customer interactions, demonstrating exceptional service and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders to set expectations and drive results.
  • Advocate for modern software development practices, driving innovation and improvement within the organization.

This role involves working from home with occasional global travel for internal and external events, up to 10% of the time.

About the Role
  • You have professional experience in software delivery using languages such as C, C++, Go, or Python.
  • You possess knowledge and passion for software development, with a strong focus on testing methodologies and maintainable code quality.
  • You have leadership experience, with the ability to organize and prioritize complex problem resolution and bug fixes.
  • You have experience with version control systems, including Git.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • You have experience with Linux, with a preference for Ubuntu.
  • You have experience with Open Source and Open Source Business Models.
