Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing financial records, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements;
  • Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts in compliance with US GAAP;
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations;
  • Performing month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entry postings, and accurate, organized reporting;
  • Processing monthly revenue tasks, including reconciliations, posting of entries, and resolving discrepancies;
  • Preparing documentation for internal and external audits and assisting auditors as needed;
  • Assisting in the preparation and filing of annual tax returns;
  • Conducting financial analysis and providing insights and recommendations based on financial data;
  • Supporting accounts receivable tasks, including contract uploads, billing, invoicing, and cash application;
  • Managing customer relationships and resolving billing issues;
  • Processing monthly payroll activities, including payroll runs and payroll entries;
  • Assisting with investor and bank reporting;
  • Managing emails effectively within Zendesk;
  • Knowing how to manage the project management tool in a timely and proactive manner;
  • Implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy;
  • Performing ad hoc tasks, financial analysis, and process improvement projects as needed;

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Financial Operations Specialist will also contribute to the development and implementation of financial processes and procedures, and provide support to other departments as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA preferred);
  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in accounts receivable, payroll processing, accounts payable, and month-end close procedures;
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting;
  • Knowledgeable in ASC 606 revenue recognition standards;
  • Experience working with US-based SaaS companies;
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero), Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word);
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team;
