Job Summary

The Sun Savings Bank, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Compliance & Risk Officer to oversee the risk management function and support the Chief Compliance Officer in developing the risk appetite and risk appetite statement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Management Framework: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework aligned with the company's strategic goals.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Risk Data Analysis: Analyze risk data to assess impact and prioritize mitigation efforts.
  • Risk Mitigation Strategies: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and report on risk exposure to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with departments to integrate risk management into daily operations.
  • Risk Training and Awareness: Provide risk management training and awareness programs to employees.
  • Emerging Risks and Industry Best Practices: Stay updated on emerging risks and industry best practices.
  • Expected Credit Loss Model: Regularly update and improve the Expected Credit Loss model of the Bank.
  • Stress Testing and Compliance: Run stress test and (or) compliance testing scenarios as required by the BSP and management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in risk management in banking/financing industry is preferred. Additionally, minimum of 3-5 years of experience in banking/financing industry such as Auditor, Teller, Cashier etc.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
