About the Role:

Our organization is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable accounting professional to support our U.S.-based startup clients. In this remote role, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate general ledgers, managing daily accounting tasks, and assisting in month-end closings. Your role will be crucial in helping ensure financial accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. accounting standards (GAAP).

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, At least 8 working hours between 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM US Central Time (8:00 PM to 7:00 AM PHT)

Work Set up: Fully Remote

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow)

  • Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and ensure accuracy in general ledger accounts

  • Process and review accounts payable and receivable transactions

  • Generate accurate financial reports and analyses for review by clients and senior staff

  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance reports

  • Maintain up-to-date records and ensure documentation supports reported balances

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with Controllers on income/expense projections

  • Complete reviews of your work and support quality checks for team members

  • Address client queries and deliver timely updates as needed

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant

  • Experience in startups, SaaS, or fast-paced client environments

  • Familiarity with tools such as Expensify, Bill.com, Gusto, Stripe, etc.

  • Experience with platforms like Airtable, Loom, Salesforce, Box, and others

What You Bring:

  • Willingness to work core hours with a 4-hour overlap with Central Standard Time in the U.S.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

  • 3+ years of corporate accounting experience.

  • Experience working remotely for a U.S.-based accounting firm.

  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles.

  • Strong experience in bank reconciliation is a non-negotiable requirement for the role.

  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, U.S. GAAP, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.

  • Solid experience with QuickBooks Online (certification a plus).

  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet software (MS Excel and Google Sheets).

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to follow through and execute a high volume of nuanced tasks.
