Senior Software Tester Role

About the Job

Our organization is looking for a skilled Senior Software Tester with a strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing test strategies that consider product risks and customer needs, and applying a risk-based approach to testing and prioritizing test coverage logically and consistently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive test plans and execute manual and exploratory testing to ensure high-quality products.
  • Analyse requirements, business risks, and identify edge cases to ensure thorough test coverage.

Technical Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of web debugging tools, proxy tools, mock data, error handling, and testing frameworks.
  • Experience with database data analysis, query optimization, and API testing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Personal Qualities:

  • Independent problem-solving skills and ability to ask insightful questions.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to make informed decisions based on business and technical contexts.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in a fast-paced SaaS or tech environment.
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies, test types, and test design techniques.
  • Ability to self-organize, think critically, and prioritize testing efforts based on risk and user impact.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, issue trackers, and test case management tools.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with test automation using scripting languages and API/UI testing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools and cloud environments.
  • Exposure to distributed systems and simulator/emulator experience.
