We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

The Electrical Systems Specialist plays a critical role in reviewing construction drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, and compiling accurate material and labor estimates for electrical projects. This position requires a strong foundation in electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and Interpret Electrical Plans: Review electrical plans, specifications, and addenda to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Perform Detailed Takeoffs: Perform detailed electrical quantity takeoffs for devices, wiring, conduits, panels, switchgear, lighting, and other systems with precision and accuracy.
  • Utilize Digital Tools: Utilize digital takeoff tools to measure and quantify materials, ensuring efficient estimating processes.
  • Prepare Organized Data: Prepare organized takeoff sheets and data for the estimating team, facilitating effective collaboration and communication.
  • Coordinate with Senior Estimators: Coordinate with senior estimators to clarify scope, resolve drawing discrepancies, and ensure seamless project execution.
  • Maintain Project Files: Track and maintain project takeoff files in shared drives, promoting transparency and accountability.
  • Update Estimating Workbooks: Update estimating workbooks with vendor quotes and revised quantities, ensuring up-to-date and accurate information.
Essential Qualifications
  • Licensed Electrical Engineer: Licensed Electrical Engineer with a strong foundation in electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
  • Experience in Electrical Estimating: Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical estimating, takeoffs, or drafting, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Reading Electrical Blueprints: Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Digital Takeoff Software: Experience with digital takeoff software, such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or Accubid, is highly desirable.
