Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Role Overview

This role involves thorough testing of digital banking builds to ensure they meet business and customer expectations. The successful candidate will conduct feature testing across mobile and web applications, ensuring functionality, usability, and reliability.

The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for creating comprehensive test cases based on requirements and design documents. They will perform functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing on digital banking builds/releases.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and UX designers to ensure quality standards are upheld. They will also contribute to the development of basic automated test scripts to improve efficiency and coverage.

  • Analyze requirements and design documents to create detailed test cases.
  • Conduct functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing on digital banking builds/releases.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and UX designers to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Raise detailed and reproducible defect reports; verify bug fixes.
  • Maintain and execute manual test cases.
  • Contribute to building and executing automated test scripts.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies: standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Support UAT activities and documentation for regulatory/compliance needs.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in QA testing (digital banking or fintech environment experience is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Expert knowledge of functional and regression testing methodologies.
  • Experience with using Jira or similar tools.
  • Experience testing APIs using tools like Postman, and usage automation tools like BrowserStack is a bonus.
  • Understanding of banking products and digital user journeys is an advantage.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills to articulate issues and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive and eager to learn, especially digital banking trends.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing tasks.
