Job Title: General Accountant for a Business Intelligence Company

Position Overview:

The role of the General Accountant involves managing and maintaining the company's general ledger, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the general ledger (GL), ensuring accurate and timely posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations and closing processes.
  • Prepare financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other reports as required.
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial reporting standards.
  • Handle audits and ensure the company's financial records are compliant with audit requirements.
  • Work closely with external auditors, tax authorities, and other third parties as needed.
  • Provide financial insights and support to the management team to aid decision-making.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Maintain and manage the accounting software and ensure seamless integration with other business tools.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Ledger (GL) accounting.
  • Proven experience with Xero accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
