Senior Software Development Engineer Role

This Senior Software Development Engineer role plays a critical part in driving quality at every stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating test plans, executing manual and automated tests, and collaborating with development and product management teams to drive comprehensive requirements for system enhancements and new features.

Responsibilities:
  • Generate detailed reports on test results and errors detected.
  • Define priorities and plan tests of system requirements.
  • Document system functionalities throughout the quality control process and software development cycle.
  • Communicate issues promptly to relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop automated test scripts that accelerate testing and software delivery.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance team and framework capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive comprehensive requirements for system enhancements and new features.
  • Analyze end-user requirements to create and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Execute manual and automated tests, debug, detect errors, and document them for follow-up resolution.
  • Identify, reproduce, and report defects, and verify fixes.
  • Participate in agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Represent end-users to developers to ensure requirements are met.
  • Detect and propose improvements in both quality control and software development cycles.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in testing, building, or supporting web applications.
  • Experience testing APIs and client applications.
  • Experience using ticketing systems like Jira, aha, etc.
  • Experience with test case management software.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to build, lead, and inspire teams, foster a positive work culture, and develop talent.
  • Familiarity with automated browser testing using an end-to-end testing framework.
  • Experience with API testing frameworks (Postman, Rest Assured, etc).
  • Experience testing or supporting web applications, databases, mobile, complex systems.
  • Experience writing code using languages like JavaScript or TypeScript.
  • Knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
  • Desire and ability to take on special engineering initiatives that have a significant impact.
  • Familiarity with automated browser testing using an end-to-end testing framework (Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, Puppeteer).
  • Experience working with Agile development teams.
  • Experience writing code using languages like TypeScript or JavaScript.
