Job Description

This role is a pivotal part of the engineering team, responsible for continually enhancing open source software by resolving technical issues reported by customers.

The Software Engineering Manager will lead one of our regional teams and be accountable for managing and guiding a distributed team of engineers.

  • Manage and guide a distributed team of engineers
  • Hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback and career development guidance to your team members
  • Establish and measure key performance indicators (KPIs), and training programs
  • Ensure timely delivery of bug fixes, patches, and other technical solutions to address business needs in various technology fields
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders
  • Advocate and advance modern software development practices
  • Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in software delivery using C, C++, Go, Python, or similar programming languages
  • Strong knowledge and passion for software development
  • Leadership experience showcasing ability to organize and prioritize complex problem resolution and bug fixes
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Experience with debugging tools such as GDB, Crash, or other diagnostic tools
  • Demonstrated commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code quality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English
  • Experience with Linux, with a preference towards Ubuntu
  • Understanding of open source and open source business models
