Job Overview

We're seeking an experienced Database Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering and maintaining databases, with a strong focus on performance tuning, optimization, and maintenance. They will also support database operations, set up proactive monitoring and alerts, troubleshoot slow-running or problematic database queries, resolve transaction-related issues, design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery strategies, and collaborate with colleagues to resolve database-related challenges efficiently.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of hands-on MySQL administration experience
  • MS SQL Server administration background
  • Strong knowledge of storage engines (InnoDB vs MyISAM)
  • Proven expertise in query optimization and troubleshooting performance issues
  • Experience with deadlock resolution and transaction management
  • Backup/restore strategy implementation experience
  • Familiarity with Zabbix monitoring or similar tools
  • Clear communication skills to explain technical issues to non-specialists
  • Honest, proactive, and efficient approach to problem-solving
  • Growth mindset with willingness to learn continuously
  • Strong team collaboration skills, contributing to a supportive and reliable work culture
