Cloud Applications Engineering Role Overview

As a senior cloud applications engineer, you will serve as a subject matter expert for distributed applications on hybrid cloud platforms. You will be responsible for documenting best practices and providing guidance to peers.

The role involves championing continuous operational improvements informed by metrics analysis and customer feedback. You will lead incident management, troubleshooting, response coordination, and conduct comprehensive post-incident reviews.

You will clearly communicate complex technical issues to development teams, document root causes, and collaborate internally to create robust solutions. The role also involves managing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise applications and cloud-based systems using secure, scalable, and reliable frameworks.

Additionally, you will proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the health, performance, and reliability of applications and platforms. You will perform detailed log analysis and utilize stack traces to debug and resolve issues reported by partners and end-users.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, or a related technical discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting critical, high-availability production systems with a strong focus on automation, reliability, and operational excellence is required.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. Required technical skills include Linux administration and troubleshooting, distributed applications, logging and monitoring, version control, and certifications such as certified Kubernetes administrator (CKA) or relevant cloud certifications.

The role involves working in collaborative, cross-functional teams within structured processes that follow modern DevOps practices and workflows. Proven experience improving operational efficiency through the development of automation tools and scripts is desirable.
