Job Overview

This is a general track for senior engineers in any team, focusing on technical leadership and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the design and architecture of impactful open source projects
  • Developing high-quality code in various programming languages such as Golang, Rust, Python, C/C++ or Typescript/React
  • Mentoring and developing colleagues in their career progression
  • Displaying technical expertise and guiding teams towards achieving goals
  • Debugging issues and implementing effective solutions
Requirements
  • A strong academic background from both high school and university
  • Relevant degree in Computer Science or STEM field, or an alternative path with relevant experience
  • Exceptional drive and motivation to excel
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate teams
  • Deep experience in at least one programming language: Go, Rust, Python or C
  • Conscientiousness and attention to detail, with a focus on performance and quality
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and spoken English
  • Effective interpersonal skills, curiosity, adaptability and accountability
Nice-to-have Skills
  • Container technologies like LXD, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Highly concurrent and distributed systems
  • Performance engineering, from kernel to web – benchmarks and optimization
  • Software security – fuzzing, threat models, analysis and audit
  • Build systems and toolchains, including cross-compilation
  • Public clouds or OpenStack experience
  • Debian/Ubuntu packaging
  • Systems programming or scalable web services
  • Quality and test engineering
  • Web or Flutter front-end experience
  • REST and gRPC API experience
  • SQL and NoSQL data store expertise
