Job Opportunity: Backend Engineer

Job Description:

The primary objective of this position is to design, develop and maintain robust backend systems and services, with a focus on scalability, security and reliability. As a key member of the technology team, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to develop scalable solutions that power our digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement and maintain scalable backend solutions using Node.js and GraphQL.
  • Build high-performance GraphQL APIs and integrate them with frontend and external services.
  • Design and implement robust backend architectures that are secure, scalable and maintainable.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases to ensure optimal data storage and retrieval processes.
  • Write efficient, reusable and well-documented code. Lead and participate in code reviews to ensure high standards across the team.
  • Debug and resolve complex backend issues to maintain system reliability and performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Extensive experience in Node.js, with a deep understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing GraphQL APIs, including schema design, query optimization and security best practices.
  • Strong experience with serverless technologies such as Firebase Functions
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, writing clear, maintainable and scalable code.

This role requires a strong understanding of backend development, with experience in Node.js, GraphQL and TypeScript. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building scalable and secure backend systems, with excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with internal stakeholders.
