Accounting Assistant Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Assistant to join our team at Marivent Hotels and Resorts Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing general ledger journal entries, credit card and bank account reconciliation, and preparing accounts payable invoices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage general ledger journal entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  2. Coordinate credit card and bank account reconciliation to prevent discrepancies.
  3. Prepare accounts payable invoices, including maintaining Excel spreadsheets.
  4. Perform internal credit card reconciliation as required.
  5. Prepare sales and use tax returns according to legal requirements.
  6. Ensure timely and accurate imaging of invoice supporting documents.
  7. Assist with audit support as necessary, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  8. Collaborate with the account receivable clerk to resolve account issues.
  9. Coordinate expense reports, maintaining a high level of organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
  • Advanced math skills, with the ability to identify numerical errors.
  • Understanding of payments, accounting, and budgeting principles.
