Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial activities, reconciliations, and adjustments.
  • Financial Analysis and Insights: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and provide insights and recommendations to management for informed decision-making.
  • Collaboration and Budgeting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and forecasts, and monitor actual performance against budgets, investigating variances and providing explanations and recommendations.
  • Tax Compliance and Audits: Ensure accurate and timely completion of tax filings, including income tax returns, sales tax returns, and other applicable regulatory requirements, and assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation, explanations, and supporting schedules.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes, and implement changes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accountancy and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Experience: Proven track record with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in Australian accounting and tax reporting.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Australian regulatory requirements, proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, APS, Handisoft or equivalent Australian tax compliance software, and MS Excel, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
