The position of Medical Coding Trainer is a critical role within our organization. As a Medical Coding Trainer, you will be responsible for conducting medical coding education for new and existing medical coders.
- Develop curriculum and training syllabus related to coding and billing training programs.
- Maintain knowledge of ICD 10 CM, ICD 10 PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Update existing training modules and develop new materials for inpatient medical coding exercises, assessment, and qualifying examination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with all workgroups to resolve issues that impact internal and external customers.
- Disseminate changes and updates in guidelines and rules.
- Participate in monthly calibration training and create assessments to check learnings from calibration training.
To be successful as a Medical Coding Trainer, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Graduate of any Medical or Allied Medical course or equivalent work experience.
- CPC certification from AAPC or CCS certification from AHIMA.
- Proficient with Revenue Cycle Management, E/M, and Procedure Coding.
- Ability to work in a team environment and have the willingness to adjust to changing job responsibilities and unexpected workloads.
